Art is in the eye of the beholder

Today when I arrived at work, a piece of artwork done by my team leaders' daughter jumped out at me. It reminded me of the mountain walk I will be doing from temple 11 to 12. They say it can be a "pilgrims downfall".

  1. For last centuries the route from #11 to #12 is so called "Awa Henro-Korogashi" and its meaning is Killing Henros, but it is understood as a challenge or test against henros whether you are fit enough to finish your walk. Now our walking gears are much improved, so you don't need to worry too much. It is just a nice hill walking with superb views of the villages, valleys, forests and cheered by stone Buddhas, wild floras. I am sure you will enjoy it. There are similar challenges at #27, #45, #60, #81 and #88 as the last before finishing. Kaz from Japan.
